Environmental Policy

The Fairways Hotel has undergone many changes between 2001 and 2004 mainly in the Services and Structural layout of the Building. The present owners, when first discussing a complete refurbishment of the Hotel, recognized the importance of Energy Conservation and the impact our waste has on the environment. Over 3 years we were able to upgrade the Hotel from a 2 Star rating to a 3 Star rating with the assistance of the WTB. In doing so we are not only proud to boast one of the finest Hotels on Porthcawl Seafront, but certainly one of the most environmentally friendly Hotels on the Seafront.

The hotel intends to further its commitment to Green Business and is constantly working with staff and suppliers to honor its responsibilities to the town and environment. We hope to achieve this by;

• Reviewing our suppliers environmental policy every 12 months
• Increasing our policy of recycling waste
• Increasing our suppliers who use recycled products
• Educating staff with respect to good house keeping
• Monitoring energy consumption and ways to reduce it
• Ensure we comply with relevant legal and environmental legislation
• Annually update our environmental policy
